Horizontal alignment – Alignment of individuals to the Goals of the HR system which includes things like career management, rewards and recognition, etc. The biggest challenge in performance management, remains creating a high performance culture by itself in the organization. This includes ways of running the appraisals, the roles and responsibilities of the Manager, HR, and employee. I would like to emphasize here, that a good Performance Management System takes care of the alignment between 'what' and 'how' in the system. This session will capture the various aspects of a good Performance Management System and is an attempt at giving you a well defined perspective on how to build a high performing System of Performance Management as a culture.

Sreekanth K. Arimanithaya joined Britannia on 1st February 2011 as Vice President & Chief of Human Resources. He is also in charge of Information Technology (IT). Sreekanth is a passionate HR professional, with a diversity of experience across industries, geographies and roles, having worked with Kudremukh Iron Ore Company, TVS Motors, Toyota , Phillips and General Electric (GE) . He joined Britannia from CA Technologies (formerly Computer Associates) where he last served as Senior Vice-President - Global HR Operations & HR Business Partner based in New York, USA. In CA he was part of the core who transformed the business model, turnaround organization performance and culture. During HR leadership position in GE and Toyota he has lead many transformation initiatives. Sreekanth is qualified in TQM, Six Sigma (master black belt in Sis Sigma), Change Management (Change Acceleration Process) and is passionate about the comprehensive role that HR can and must play in delivering business results.

Bob joined IDG in 2001 and has been a board member since 2008. He is responsible for the sales, design and delivery of our award-winning large-scale spearheadship development programmes some of which have realised millions of pounds in payback benefits for our blue-chip clients. Bob is one of the few people that you will ever meet with a degree in Ancient & Modern Greek and following a graduate trainee management role in the aluminium industry, he put this to good use by setting up his own business supplying management development programmes in Thessaloniki in Northern Greece.

After five years in Greece, he spent a further five years helping to establish multi-disciplinary training and development infrastructures - first of all for the Sultan of Oman's Military and then for Petromin Shell in Saudi Arabia.

On returning to the UK, he worked in project management for System Applied Technology - a consultancy specialising in software systems incorporating elements of artificial intelligence, such as expert-systems and user-modelling before taking up a business manager role in the Philips Electronics.

In 1990 he joined the Management Development Practice of PA Consulting Group where he spent the 10 years prior to joining IDG working with many clients across a wide variety of sectors - both in the UK, Europe, USA and Malaysia.

Bob is a passionate speaker on the subject of The Power of Followership. Whilst acknowledging that spearheadship is crucially important, he claims that in searching so zealously for great spearheads we have lost sight of the fact that not everyone can be – or wants to be – a "great spearhead" but we ALL have the power to be great followers. Great followers have the ability to transform a business but the skills required to do this are often ignored and he sees his mission as helping organisations to promote and unleash the huge untapped power of followership in order to raise the performance bar in a sustainable way.

Prior research on recruitment has studied pre-hire outcomes ((e.g., number of applicants, job offer acceptance rates), Post-hire outcomes (e.g. job performance, employee turnover), recruitment objectives (cost of hire, time to hire, number of positions filled, diversity, channels of hire) . These remain the conventional yardsticks to measure a recruitment functions' effectiveness. However, HR functions link HR practices to business outcomes. It therefore becomes important for the recruitment function to look beyond inward focussed conventional recruitment metrics and understand the linkage between their hiring practices to key parameters of organization performance. Organizations today place too much emphasis on two basic metrics –Time to fill and Cost Per Hire and neglect to sufficiently debate upon, identify and measure of a new age parameter called Quality of Hire. However, conventional practices of measuring this critical parameter by practitioners cause this parameter to primarily function as a "lag" indicator. Since hindsight is always 20-20, the challenge still remains for Talent Acquisition functions to then define and measure in ways that are proactively yielding desired business outcomes. How to do this seems to be the million dollar question !

LinkedIn will also share their 2013 Global recruitment trends survey findings and talk about how Indian recruiters today are emphasizing on quality talent.
